About Doctor

Dr Subhash Gupta has been the pioneer of Liver Transplantation in the Indian subcontinent. It is largely due to his efforts through the last decade that this specialty has become well established in this part of the world. Liver Transplant today has given fresh lease of life to thousands of patients with liver disease as a result of his endeavors.

Dr. Subhash Gupta is Chairman of Max Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences which is one of the largest Liver Transplant Centres in the world with experience of over 3000 transplants. Currently, the Centre carries out over 200 transplants annually and an equal number of difficult HPB cases. His responsibilities include maintaining safety protocols across all divisions of the Centre including Hepatology, Anaesthesia and Critical care.

He has been honored with the position of Professorship in Surgery from Apollo Health Education and Research Foundation
The Institute of Postgraduate Education and Medical Research, Kolkata, has also honored him with the position of Professor of Liver Transplantation
Delhi Medical Association awarded him with a Gold Medal in 2005. The Rotary Association of India has honored him for excellence in clinical medicine in 2012
In 2012, the Delhi Medical Association honored him with the award of Vishist Chikitsh Rattan (Distinguished Clinician) on Doctor’s Day
